Project Overview:
The OPTUM Health Visa Reward Card offers a fast and convenient solution for paying eligible medical expenses without the hassle of paper claim forms. It can be used at pharmacies, doctor’s offices, or even for direct billing. As part of a broader initiative to provide better healthcare solutions, this project involved designing and implementing a robust digital platform to support Optum’s diverse healthcare offerings. The platform aims to improve member outcomes, lower costs, and enhance user experience.
Problem Statement and Approach:
Optum Health required a stable, scalable, and flexible website to maintain its multifaceted operations while adapting quickly to the evolving healthcare landscape. The challenge was establishing a Sitecore Content Management System (CMS) that met security and capacity requirements and provided a seamless, personalized experience for many users, including employers, government agencies, and healthcare providers.
Addressing this challenge required a comprehensive analysis of the infrastructure and system parameters necessary to support an enterprise-level Sitecore CMS environment. This analysis was the foundation of our planning, design, and implementation of Sitecore environments across the development, test, model, and production stages. A key focus was creating a platform-as-a-service model to facilitate easy microsite creation and configuration for future web properties within Sitecore.
Solution:
We undertook a significant restructuring of the existing content to fully exploit Sitecore’s CMS capabilities. This allowed us to deliver personalized, modular content that is optimized for various devices. This approach laid the groundwork for localization, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and catering to the diverse needs of Optum’s clientele. To ensure the quality and relevance of the content, we developed content governance protocols that align with best practices in content marketing, SEO, and multi-device accessibility. Additionally, we implemented Google Tag Manager to provide accurate data on visitor activity and conversion rates, further enhancing the platform’s ability to serve its users effectively.
